Registration Procedures of Criminal Cases

Registration of syariah criminal case is registered by Prosecutor of the Department of Islamic Affairs Kedah Darul Aman. To provide informations to the public on how a criminal case is registered, listed below are the registration procedure of syariah criminal case in the Syariah Court Kedah Darul Aman.

Application for registration of a criminal case shall be accompanied by:

Upon receipt of the completed documents, the case will be registered and the first mention time will be given. The Mention date will be decided within 30 working days. A copy of application form which contains with mention date and number cases will be given by the party of Syarie Prosecutor.

If the Syarie Prosecutor need to surrender a summons to the accused, a copy of summons and charge sheet has to be submitted to the Syarie Prosecutor. Otherwise, submit  the notice of summons to the district area for delivery.

If the accused is outside the district area, provide a covering letter to the district court where the accused lived for delivery.  If the suit is accepted by the accused in court, no covering letter is required.
